Community Food Smart St. Stephen.
We are excited to kick off a Community Food Smart program here in St. Stephen!
What we are: Community Food Smart is a bulk food buying club for individuals and families keen on purchasing quality fruits and vegetables at affordable prices, sourced from local farmers when possible.
Community Food Smart operates through a network of community partners who collect orders, provide volunteers, and distribute food bags to their members each month.
Together, these partners donate their time and effort to make each area’s food buying club a success.
How do I join: Members can place an order for one or two fresh produce bags a month. The price of a food bag is $15. There is also a membership fee of $10. Please email one of our distributors to join.
Getting involved: Volunteers help sort and pack bags for same day delivery, if you’d like to join the team please email rsnelgrovefood@gmail.com.
Want to become a distributor? Email rsnelgrovefood@gmail.com for more information.
What’s in a bag: Bags are brimming with produce carefully selected to ensure freshness, affordability and variety.
We consider everything from what’s in season, what’s
available at a fair price and what’s available from local farmers.
Standard items include apples, bananas, oranges, potatoes, onions and carrots. The rest of the items will vary each month.

This improved service will be more convenient for residents and will include an expanded list of acceptable recyclable materials, diverting more from the landfill. Keep up on this news here
