  • Fat Souls (March 25, 2012)

Peter Fitch gives one of his older talks, The Fat Soul Method of Breaking Sins, Habits, and Addictions, because it fits with his desire to see everyone grow in character, wholeness, and intimacy with God. This talk, in written form, is a chapter that’s included in a book with multiple authors called Catching God’s Heart (Destiny Image, 2010). There it is called: “How Ancient Voices can Deepen our Relationship with God.”

Why Squash Gives Me Hope (March 19, 2012)

Walter Thiessen tells the story of his changing opinion about squash and why that gives him hope that we can learn to change – to get over things we used to emotionally react against – like the Pharisees who were disgusted by Jesus hanging out with sinners.

Breaking Mythologies of Injustice (March 19, 2012)

Peter Fitch shares pictures and stories from the recent study tour that he and Mary Ellen led to Egypt, Jordan and Israel. Then Peter shares from his heart about the difficulties associated with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and some of the improper ways that our society has viewed this problem. He longs for a middle way that sees prophecy fulfilled as Jews are regathered to their historic homeland but also longs for the other part of the prophecies: a sense of righteousness that has sometimes been missing over the last generations. At the end of this talk Brenda Landry, lead intercessor for SCV, shared a word that she heard in prayer before the service began. It seemed to confirm the general direction of this talk in a close to miraculous way. Click here to read that.
